Sensory Symptoms - tingling arm and foot

Hi,

I’ve been a lurker on here for a while but recent symptoms are starting to bother me and I wondered if anyone had advice.

I was diagnosed at the end of 2021 after a 2 month stint of double vision. Looking at my medical history the neurologist thinks my first relapse was probably in 2008.

I developed an ‘uncomfortable’ left foot in November, I would call it discomfort and tingling rather than pain. Feels like I have an elastic band around my calf. It comes and goes but now I’ve got the same in my left arm and hand.

I can walk, type, cook etc but it has reached a level of discomfort where I’m struggling to concentrate at work. Is there anything I can do to minimise symptoms? I mentioned it to my nurse and she said that rest is a good way to deal with sensory symptoms but I’m not convinced there is any evidence of that.

Thank you for reading.

Hello,

For me like the nurse said moments where muscles get tight or twitch uncontrollably usually mean rest is best option. If I am honest I know I am getting pretty tired.

The best way I have found to deal with symptoms has been seeing a neuro physio. They just get it and can offer physio (more hands on) and for me it makes a difference.

Good luck

I agree with James. My neuro physio is just magic! He seems to know exactly how to sort out misbehaving muscles. The downside is, I have to pay for him. However, he’s soooo… good I don’t mind that.
