Relapse warning?

Hi all I’m just wondering if any of you get any signs that tell you you have a relapse coming on? Kaz xx

Hi Kaz,

Not absolutely reliable ones, no. Sometimes, in retrospect, I can see I was feeling more tired in the run-up, or experiencing more buzzing than usual. Before I was diagnosed, I once mistook the onset of a relapse for a problem with the central heating pump, as I wondered why it was vibrating so much I could feel it! Turned out the vibration was a fault with ME, not the central heating.

But sometimes, I get these things but it’s NOT the prelude to a relapse. Last night I had quite an ominous buzzing in my leg, to the point I was feeling apprehensive about what today had in store. But, touch wood, I think I’d probably just been overdoing things. I did quite a lot of housework yesterday, which is something of a rare event for me. I also did some cooking, which is not typical either. I can’t be sure yet, but hopefully, it was just a false alarm. I think I should have done housework OR cooking, but not both on the same day. When you don’t usually do much of either, it’s too much.

Thanks Tina. I asked because I’ve been feeling odd for a couple of days (even more odd than usual I mean). I’ve had a busy couple of weeks though, and I’m looking after a toddler with a chest infection, so I’ve probably just been overdoing it. If you don’t mind me asking, are you on DMDs? Kaz xx

Hi Kaz,

Yeah, you may just have been overdoing it. Any specific symptoms, or just a bit spacey? If the latter, could be tiredness. Some sleepless nights, I reckon, if you have a toddler with a chest infection?

No, I’m not on DMDs.

Definitely spacey, and my legs feel strange (hard to describe). After I’d been on the phone with my mum this morning my arm ached for quite a while afterwards. I’ll try and get a nap this afternoon. Probably just need a nap. I’m starting DMDs on the 10th and would prefer not to staet another relapse before then! Kaz xx
