Recently diagnosed and looking for some advice

Hi im Kieron im a 24 year old dad of 2.

Thankyou for taking the time to read apologies for all the confusing medical names used I’m referring to my latest scan results.

I was recently diagnosed with MS by a specialist however I’m still left more confused than i was before, i was told by the specialist i have coordination issues with my right side i was unable to lay flat and lift my right leg without severe shaking in the leg i also was unable to walk in a straight line toe to heal.

I was informed i have “Active MS” due to multiple hyperintense lesions located in the periventricular, juxtacortical, pericallosal and supratentorial parenchyma aswell as 1/2 lesions in posterior fossa including left cerebellum.

I’ve been told I’m eligible for DMT and due to see my options once I’ve gone to a panel of specialists to decide what ones are available to me.

is this quite advanced?
is the amount of damage I’ve mentioned done over a long time period?

just so confusing at the moment.

Hi Kieron
Compared to someone without MS, it’s advanced but you are at the start of things - really.

Lots of big words i the radiologist’s report but most of all you need to concentrate on how you feel. MS is extremely qualitative. Sounds like you MS Team are representing you well as they’ve organised a MDT (multi-disciplinary team) to discuss your case and come up with the best options.

You’re young, newly diagnosed and caught early, some people can find their relapses and progression pretty much halted in those circumstances. Own it, don’t let it own you.
