Wednesday 14 November I have two appts…first one says MRI Spine Cervical (MRSPC) And the next is 30 mins later and says MRI head (MRH) and it last 30 mins Does anyone know what the letters mean or what I am getting? Or is it bog standard… Thanks
The letters are just the abbreviation: Magnetic Resonance SPine Cervical and Magnetic Resonance Head.
MRI is Magnetic Resonance Imaging/Images.
They’ve booked it as two appointments, but they’ll do it all in one go and it probably won’t take a full hour. It’s all pretty straightforward stuff
I hope it goes well

Hi Meshell… I’m taking a guess here but MRSPC maybe MR Spinal Cord and MRH maybe MR Head??
Sounds good to be but could be completely wrong!
Hope it all goes well,

Ah Karen got in just before me but hey I my guess wasn’t bad!
Hi
I had head & spine MRI and it took about 40 minutes. They do it in 3/4 minute parts… and they talk to you and tell you theyre going to start again. You’ll get a radio/CD on, which you won’t hear as the machine is so noisy! I was very comfortable and at one point at the beginning nearly fell asleep… I kept my eyes closed and thought I was lying on a beach with Dermot O’leary ~ the only time I felt a bit ‘overcome’ was when I opened my eyes, but closing them and telling myself to calm down soon put me right again.
It’s painless but very very noisy.
Good luck

Thanks ladies…at least I know what to expect…x
