I’ve just listened to this podcast about having functional neurological symptoms is interesting and might be helpful for some of you (still doesn’t convince me though!)

Also, on the other foot, this book by Angela Kennedy is about doctors too easily diagnosing psychosomatic/functional disorders for physical illnesses. You can ‘search inside’ on Amazon and find some interesting bits which might encourage you in your quest for diagnosis: Authors of Our Own Misfortune?: The Problems with Psychogenic Explanations for Physical Illnesses
