HI Everybody!
I am trying to do a straw poll of peoples evperences with the PIP process.
There seems to be a predominance of threads here about problems with the process (understandable given the circumstaces).
I am trying to find out if ANYONE has had a “good” first time result?
i.e been awarded an appropriate level of PIP for their condition at first time of asking?
Surely there must be some people with “good” (relatively) experiences of this process?
Or am I deluding myself?
Take care all!
Steve.
I haven’t applied for PIP , but had a great experience with DLA, but i applied in 1996, so a long time ago, so possible things have changed. It was a slow process, but eventually a dr came to assess me at home, he was nice. It was good because I just wanted to get the mobility element to get a car but I was also awarded middle rate care. Never expected to get that. They did an assessment a few years ago, again they just kept my award as it was, which again was fine. One thing I will say is that, contrary to what people say on here, I did not fill in the forms from the point of view of my worst day, and, again, contrary to advice on here, I did not go into a lot of detail. That’s not my style, I always fill in forms with the minimum information to get them away, I hate having jobs like that hanging about. For me was a case of the less said the better. So, a longtime ago but possible to have a good experience. Perhaps, other people do too, but maybe the only people who post are those who have bad experiences. Cheryl:-)

Hi Steve I was awarded PIP earlier this year, I got awarded standard care and enhanced mobility until 2016. I got first time what I believe I should receive. Process for me was between 4-5 months I didn’t go to face to face assessment so was based on all the evidence I submitted. To me it was still a long process but I do feel really fortunate when I read how others have been treated through the whole process. I would say over my experience has been good. Polly x
