Can anybody tell me how long you are given to return a PIP application? I applied today because the deadline for switching from DLA is just after we get back from our holiday. I mentioned this to the woman who dealt with my call and she told me to call the PIP enquiry line to see if they could help. I did this several times without getting through to anyone.
I seem to remember having 4 - 6 weeks to return my DLA application. Do you get the same for PIP, or is it going to be a rush and therefore even more stressful.
I take it that today was your call to the DWP where they ask you some basic questions? If so, they can’t give you a date today because they do an initial sift of the applications to decide whether they need to send you a formal “How my disabilty affects me” form to fill in at all. If they do (ie in most cases) they will send it out to you in the next week or so and the covering letter that comes with it will give your deadline date for sending it back.
a 2 week extension is usually agreed if you can give a reasonable purpose for the request. It needs to be done by telephone unfortunately best calling later in the day when it is quieter
