peristeen and electrolyte imbalances?

Hi,

new to this site. Was diagnosed 2 yrs ago and have been using peristeen for a few weeks.Going ok,some hits, some misses, apparently it takes some time to get the hang of it.

Just wondering about something my GP said when i first started using peristeen. She wanted to monitor my electrolytes regularly because,in her words:peristeen is basically a tap water enema and they can cause dehydration and electrolyte problems, like salt or potassium depletion.

Anyone else had problems wirh this and is it normal to be monitored regularly?

Any advice or shared experiences would be much appreciated.

I haven’t had any experience of this but you could try drinking coconut water. It’s extremely hydrating and replenishes all your electrolytes. Might help x
