Participating in clinical trial

Hi everyone. So I’m doing a clinical trial (Queen Square) next week in high dose Simvastatin. Have no experience of doing these but mobility is very poor at moment (walking pole and rollater but balance is rubbish). What is it like moving round in the hospital?

Hoping not to bring my husband with me and having to be there 9am on the first day for around three hours!

Thanks

Hi,
I attend Queen Square and I also have poor mobility and balance but I haven’t found it too difficult to get around. I attend on my own and I walk with the aid of FES and a rollator.

I visit outpatients and rehabilitation on the first floor of the main building. The main building entrance in Queen Square is ramped as well as steps. Outpatients is level access.

Many patients use wheelchairs so the hospital is well equipped to deal with mobility problems.

Good luck with the trial.

Sue

Just to add there are disabled toilets on the ground floor and a lift for access to other floors. I hope the trial is successful.

Thanks Sue. I’ve been to Queen Square quite often but having a crisis of confidence today and don’t normally go alone.
