Well I’ve had my appt fell over every time I had to stand with eyes shut and leg reflexes increased however I’ve been told that its anxiety and little point doing anymore tests as it would make me more anxious. That he has no reason to suspect ms etc and that is his speciality. So that’s that again X

Thanks. Am gutted . Not sure how anxiety can cause bladder problems or the optician to find a nystagmus that he said is a neuro cause but only thought of that later. Not sure what to do now. Wait and see I guess X

How about stop thinking about it. Why don’t you go away for a weekend or take up a hobby to take your mind off it then it ill go away. What’s the point in doing anything else if you’ve got ms theirs no cure for it anyways so theirs no point in being diagnosed you might as well just leave it.

I agree it’s a bit harsh! Of course there is a point in diagnosis! Gives you help and options.

That’s def harsh, especially as you haven’t been back from a break away for very long, and your legs were bad after the trip! x

Hi Arwen, Just wanted to say sorry you still have no clue as to what’s wrong with you, but also wanted to say that MS is such a difficult thing to diagnose maybe the neuro didn’t think there was enough evidence to support a diagnosis. Whilst this is unfortunate at least now you are on their radar should any further symptoms occur and if they don’t then that’s even better surely? I think sometimes especially when you are feeling unwell that it is comforting in an absurd way to pin hopes on it being a tangible illness because then you feel justified in feeling ill. Unfortunately when it comes to specialists, some can be pompous and not listen whilst others do actually enter their particular field of medicine because they truly believe they can help make things better for sufferers. Whilst not trying to say forget about things because it obviously affects your everyday life I think Douglas does have a point when he say’s try to take your mind off things because it might only be the anxiety that the neuro see’s and this overtakes the other symptoms, if, after this the symptoms are still persistant go back to the doctor and give it another go. MS can take forever to diagnose in some and no time at all in others but overall if it is anxiety that’s causing a majority of your symptoms then by stepping back for a short while the symptoms have a chance to disperse, surely anything is worth a try at this stage? Best of luck. Liz

Plus it doesn’t mean you have MS theirs loads of other things which have the same as MS like peripheral neuropathy.
