I am 3 months in following a weeks course of high dose oral steroids and had been really well and symptom free, but over the last week I’ve noticed a gradual decline with weakness in my right arm, I’ve now developed an odd sensation in my bicep, palm of my hand and thumb…it’s vey sensitive to touch, even clothing makes my flinch. Has anyone else had this before, is this a type of neuralgia? Really upset, as I’ve had 4 relapses in the last 12 months, now waiting to hear if I’ve been accepted for Tysabri.
This sounds like neuropathic pain. I have had something simular last year but has gone at the moment. I was given amitriptyline. It took the edge off the pain.
Gabapentin and pregabalin are also medications for this.
If you have an ms nurse give her a call to get some help with this. No need to suffer.
Good luck with the Tysabri.

I take pregabulin and amitriptyline for this nerve pain.
My pain team have also suggested Dulexetine - they’ve found that diabetics with nerve pain get some relief with this anti depressant although apparantly there’s no actual evidence.
Also try ice packs and avoiding heat. I dress in cotton and short sleeve tops etc most of the year!
Another thought that has come to me, is that maybe you may have an infection? That can give rise to various symtoms, new and old…
Good luck
