Norovirus with low immune system

I have had explosive diahhrea since Monday, I’ve barely eaten (lost 5lbs since Monday), feel nauseous constantly and weak as the smallest of kittens. What concerns me is that norovirus shouldn’t last this long - except I know I have a very low lymphocyte count and have done since being on Kesimpta. I suppose what I’m asking is, has anyone else experienced this? I’m getting concerned for my overall health.

Hi sjs1971, No I haven’t, you do sound worried, so speak with your GP, or MS nurse, I know you’ll have to wait until Monday, so try and relax, I won’t say don’t worry, because that’s what we do.
Take care of you self, drink plenty of fluids and do try and eat a little.

How long have you been on kesimpta for?
I started on that in October, 3 days before my injection in January I was constipated again and feeling cold with reflux. After my injection those symptoms eased, and my bowel movements are very soft and frequent. It could be a combination of things causing this. But you need to try and remain hydrated and I would suggest seeking advice from your MS team.

I really hope it settles down very soon.

I’ve been on Kesimpta for nearly two years. My lymphocyte count has been really low for most of that time. I’m still I’ll and I’m now getting very worried. Hopefully it will clear up soon.

Oh bless you, keep your fluid up, and electrolytes otherwise you’ll be very poorly. If you’ve got lemonade, stir in a spoonful of sugar, stand back as it will fizz up. If you can eat try toast, or you could get some advice of 111 if your in the uk?

Thank you. Going to contact 111 as imodium is doing nothing.

You have nothing to loose, and hope you get some answers as it’s not nice on top of everything else you have to deal with on a daily basis.
Take care x

Hiya, just wanted to check to see how you are feeling now? Did 111 help you out and really hope your symptoms have eased.

Oh goodness thank you for asking. My GP thinks I have an infection like c.diff, made worse by being immunocomprimised. I’ve had a bunch of tests and await the outcome!

Oh bless you, that can be very nasty. It’s good to hear you are getting some help. Take care and I really hope you start to feel better very soon.
