Newly diagnosed

Hi,

I was diagnosed with ms two days ago by a neuro who i saw as a private patient and then he saw me on the nhs. Because im am not in the area where he works he is referring me to a ms nurse at my local hospital. My question is is an ms allowed to prescribe any medication i may need as i am not too happy to see the neuro at my local hospital.

Thanks Christine

My MS nurse faxed a list of meds to be prescribed for me direct to my GP surgery. I saw the MS nurse in the morning and picked up my prescription from the doctors surgery later that afternoon. She prescribed Amantadine, Duloxetine and Omeprazole. I ‘think’ the only things you can’t get from the MS nurse is DMD’s - they have to be prescribed by the neurologist.

Good luck Christine
