Newly diagnosed CIS

Hi everyone
I have recently been diagnosed with CIS (2 weeks) and I am 18months in to a medication regime for ADHD (attention deficit not hyperactive). At the grand age of 58 I have been concerned that the medication (delmosart) could be exacerbating the condition. To be honest the neurologist was not good and she gave me very little information and didn’t seem to know anything about ADHD. The upside is that I do have an appointment with an MS nurse and I am hoping to get more information.
What happens with work? I am a nurse so my job is relatively stressful working in eye casualty. Stress seems to bring on the tingle in my face followed by a mammoth fatigue attack. How do people cope with it and maintain a work/life balance?

Hi Rob. I retired early ( about your age I think) and before MS got too bad so I can’t give any advice, tips etc on balancing work/life.

I’m not up to date on things to do with employment law etc but is there any chance of the NHS letting you reduce hours/ going part time. From what I remember, MS is classified as a disability and employers should make all necessary adjustments to accommodate your MS .

My wife used to be a nurse (by amazing coincidence , also in Eye Outpatients!) and I know that in general ( but not always) nurses can be very conscientious and loyal to helping patients but sometimes there is a need to put yourself first
