In the latest issue of MS Matters there is a small brochure from Discount Mobility Direct. On Page 6 a Galaxy Powerchair caught my eye and the price £899 [RRP £2499] was interesting. However, I decided to have a browse on the internet and having typed in the same information up popped a site with the chair priced at £799 ! This sellers RRP said it was £1845.
Much to my astonishment it is the same company!! I wonder how many more of their products are differently priced?
If I was being cynical, I would say that they have assumed that people with MS were a bit old and dodery and they were trying to exploit that fact.
Good job I am not cycnical.
I wonder, just wonder, whether perhaps the £899 model includes a service contract. Or maybe it’s got fuel injection, power assisted steering, automatic gearbox, aircon, GPS, ABS and traction control as standard
Well spotted.Have you or anybody else raised the matter withthe ‘Advertising Staff’?
That magazine obviously has to generate revenue, but for a Newby flicking through for the first time all the mobility gear advertised must frighten the living faecal matter out of them. Not much chance of doing it differently, but for somebody without much help and support…
