I looked it up when a friend was diagnosed with it.
Are you on a DMD? (Disease Modifying Drug), if you are then your life expectancy should be the same as everyone else’s.
prednisone and imuran (steroids) are used to help reduce the length of relapses. Long term use of these can lead to further problems so discuss with your doctor, who will probably do blood tests to check that all is well. I would imagine 3 monthly tests.
it is incredible what a doctor can learn from blood tests.
