MRI stable for years but now wheelchair user

Hi. Just wondered if anyone else has this issue. When I was diagnosed 8 years ago I was walking just with a very slight limp. Now I am a full time wheelchair user. My MRIs have not changed in all of that time though and I still struggle to get my head around this. Does anyone else have this??

It sounds like it might be a case of Smouldering MS.

I did smile at the bit in that MS Soc article that said that one example of progression independent of relapses (PIRA - the fancy name for smouldering MS) was the kind of foot drop that only appears when one goes for a run(!) We’re all going to be nodding vigorously in recognition at that one, no? :rofl:
