hi has anyone been here looking for a holiday and this has came up on my search and i am trying to find out more about it

I was there about ten years ago when I was handier on my pins than I am now, but really struggled on the levadas, the raised walkways that people get around on.  Far too narrow for me, and a drop on either side.  I struggled then; I certainly couldn't do it now.

It's a pretty place, though, and the weather is lovely.

thanks alison booked mainland spain in may so hopefully weather will be kind

Madeira - lovely island but very steep - no beaches. But the island of Porto Santo is great - it has miles of sandy beaches. To get to it you have to fly to Madeira - and then fly [in a little plane] to Porto Santo - it is also Portuguese.
