Sounds like good news, if it comes true! Teresa xx
Hi, it does sound a marvelous thiung. But as it is from a Scottish newspaper, will it only affect Scotland?
Not meaning to be selfish, but as I get my state pension next May, it wont affect me.
Even so, it would be a great thing for all my pals here to be left alone, when they are poorly and unfit for work.

Hello everyone, as I’ve recently filled in a work capability assessment form this now appears to leave me in glorious limbo. As I have just about managed to secure all the benefits I’m entitled to, it leaves me with a sort of “nothing surprises me, I won’t hold my breath” feeling. Wait and see I suppose, but I wouldn’t mind getting an acknowledgement that I am officially incapable of working. Best wishes, Steve.
Hi all, I think the headline is misleading as it’s really that the government has been advised to scrap them… so who knows? I think if and when it happens it will be all UK. I STILL haven’t had my ESA forms… but the longer it goes on the better it is sounding. More people with chronic conditions are going straight into support group (which is the one where you don’t have to look for work). So with the huge backlog, lots of people winning appeals AND Atos pulling out… it could mean good news. Let’s hope so. Pat xx
The appointment my gp requested I attend was because he had received forms from the benefits agency asking all about my ability to work so I think it has begun here already. I must say that I’m very glad as my ATOS visit in the past was a huge waste of time, then telling me there was nothing wrong and I could go back to nursing despite the fact that my mri showed that my spinal cord was so compressed in my neck that I needed surgery and they said I shouldn’t even have been walking. My gp said that I had no chance of working again. I just hope that whoever does the assessments is realistic.
Take care and have a good weekend.

Hi guys i had an interview on monday for back to work …whichj was a complete waste of time he never got out of his chair
Oh Mac, it makes you want to scream, doesnt it.
Pam x
My gp never got off his chair to examine me either but to be fair he knows me well and has examined me often enough. Your consultation sounds like a real waste of time Mac, no wonder there are so many appeals. I sympathise with your becoming frustrated but don’t think it’s as unusual as we’d hope it would be.
All you can do is put it behind you and I hope you have a nice Easter weekend.
