Hi there everyone Does anyone on here know anything about or has been on a trial or has taken lemtrada? I’ve read it’s recently been approved by NiCE and sounds a very interesting drug as it’s helping with progression too and it’s been 25 years in the making.
What i know is that it’s a drug they use(d) for leukemia patients originally. It has to do with re-setting the immune system from what i reaf. It’s given intravenously once over 5 days and then again a year later. I was offered it but chose tecfidera. My neuro said Lemtrada has more serious potential side effects and once the drug is in the system there’s no turning back unlike other drugs that you can just stop taking. So he would only really suggest it for more extreme RRMS cases where benefits outweigh the risks much more. Hope this helps.
