Hi, my name is Rachel (48) recently diagnosed although I have had symptoms for years. Secondary teacher in Scotland. Does anyone know how quick the process is between diagnosis and hearing from MS nurse or Dr with regards to meds? I would like to have them before i go on holiday in a couple of weeks, thanks.
It all depends on the finer print in your diagnosis.
Am I right in assuming that your diagnosis has been made by a general Neurologist? Could take a few more months before you’re seen by a MS-specialist Neurologist who will write a report back to your GP and activate the MS Nursing team. In my case it took 2 months from Neuro to MS Neuro and another 2 months for the report to come out and MS Nurses to be notified. I presume you’ve had MRI’s (plural) already, hence the diagnosis?
Hi, thanks for replying. Yes, I’ve had MRI, and yes I think it was a general neurologist. I was told I should hear from MS nurse during the week. I cant believe you had to wait so long, but thank you for giving me an idea of how long it might take.
