On this morning’s Andrew Marr show, Labour’s Shadow Chancellor, John McDonnell, sat on the sofa with Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond.
Mr McDonnell appeared to really care as he pleaded with the tory to reverse welfare cuts for the disabled, particularly Universal Credit and ESA, especially the £30 a week cut scheduled for April 2017 in ESA payments for those in the WRAG. He also spoke up for the low paid.
The tory Chancellor remained colder than cold as he showed no understanding or compassion at all.

Well what did you expect, he’s a Tory! Don’t look to them for understanding or compassion…or money to help anyone. The old Tony Benn quote springs to mind… “If we can find the money to kill people, we can find the money to help people.” Almost the last politician who I felt any respect for. Oh, and Jo Cox, I was terribly sorry about her; she had an ounce of promise but some did for that.
