JC Virus

Can anyone shed some light on what the JC virus is and what it means for someone with MS. My partner has tested positive for it. He has never taken any medications for his ms. Any info at all would be greatly appreciated

The JC virus (John Cunningham virus) is something that many many people have the antibodies for. It’s a pretty much silent virus that doesn’t affect us except that generally, only people who have the antibodies for the JC virus can develop PML (Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy) when being treated with the DMD Tysabri.
