Hi. I’m after some advice if anyone can help. I was diagnosed with Optic Neuritis last Aug. MRI confirmed several lesions in the periventricular area. I was diagnosed As CIS and referred for lp too. I saw the Neurologist in Dec who advised me to contact the MS nurses if I have any further symptoms, however I won’t need to see him again or have another scan he said. I have developed tingling sensations in my right hand which has now gone to both hand and up my arms. I contacted the nurse who actually came to see me yesterday before I had my lumbar puncture on the ward. He suggested this sounds like a relapse and will write to the cons. My query is really, do they need clinical evidence of a relapse for example MRI or does it seem possible this could now lead to a diagnosis based on my symptoms. Also having the lp yesterday too might give more answers too. Has anyone got any advice to help with these sensations as they beginning to increase now? Had these for 2 weeks so far! Many thanks for reading Emma x
hi emma
the neuro will make a judgement as to whether this is a relapse based on your account and on a new MRI.
well i would hope so.
then if it shows new lesions you’ll get a diagnosis.
meanwhile take a good vitamin B supplement as they work with the nerves.
i had tingling as my first symptom, a locum doctor prescribed Thiamin tablets and these got rid of it.
a year later the tingling came back and then came the diagnosis tests.
thiamin is Vit B1

Many thanks Carole I will have a look at them for the nerves x
I would push for another MRI personally.
