Just thought I would share this. It would appear that the progression of MS will be more benign for people who have optic neuritis as their initial symptom.

Have you provided the right link Adrian? This is to a study of the risk of developing MS after a first attack of ON.

Hi Karen,
Yes, it is just a couple of lines in the discussion;
“Our finding of a low frequency of substantial disability among patients developing MS is similar to some prior studies”
but I was reading in other trials where the first ten years after diagnosis were fairly benign in patients where the first major symptom was ON.
