Information on PPMS

I can’t remember how I signed up to an e-mail service from Professor Gavin Giovannoni but I get daily reports and news on aspects of MS. He is a professor of neurology at Queen Mary University and also Bart’s NHS Trust.

His post yesterday was about PPMS ‘the forgotten many’ and he talks about what can be done to ‘improve the lots of people with PPMS’.

I think it’s worth reading and he also invites people with PPMS to leave comments about his article.

As mentioned I can’t remember exactly how I signed up but if your search for his name and MS it will lead to his ‘micro site’.

Prof G works at the London Hospital and met him a couple of times, over the years. I am happy to confirm he is a decent man, with a refreshingly open mind.
The search facility on his site will reveal a great amount of reliable information.

I also subscribed to his weekly newsletters, they are an interesting read, my neurology is at the NHNN in Queen Square.

I think PPMS is on a par with SPMS, as they’re both on the same Progress stage of the multiple sclerosis disease.
