I don’t really think so. Why?
If it were an STD (which was once hypothesised, believe it or not!), I think there’d probably be less emphasis, and less sympathy, because it would be argued to be a “lifestyle choice”, and our own silly fault!
Incidentally, I do think there’s already an element of that now, and that many healthy people assume ALL serious illness is avoidable (unless it happens to them), and that you must have led a very unhealthy life, to end up with a problem.
