Hi, I’m Joanne. I was finally diagnosed in 2007 with MS. Over the years I managed to find the right medications to help me survive daily living. With every relapse the meds increased and my cognitive skills declined. I also have spondylolesthesis and postural hypotension just to make sure my balance doesn’t get any better.
In June this year my daughter asked me to call an ambulance as she thought I was very unwell! She wasn’t wrong - burst colon, sepsis & pneumonia! After a life saving operation I woke with a Stoma! It was dreadfully hard mentally to come to terms with but as my daughter says - I’m alive. After 4 weeks in hospital and two weeks at home hooked up to antibiotics, I was struggling. Then I got hit with Covid. My brain has gone into shutdown mode. thankfully I’ve got my elderly father helping me with forms etc.but we are as clueless as can be about what is available. I’ve moved into a ground floor apartment he found and I’m managing a little better, but feel I am mentally broken. On a positive my surgeon said it can be reversed early next year. Woohoo
Well that’s me but all that other people see is Jo with a huge smile. After all that chatter I hope that I can bring a little positivity to everyone I talk with. ![]()
