How do you cope?

Hi all

just wondered what strategies any of you use for coping with stress? I don’t know if I’m having a relapse at the moment, or if it is a result of the huge ammount if stress I’m having at work. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks in advance

Hi Freckles, Stress is a hard one to answer as we all have our different ways of copeing. Myself when I feel stressed I take a deep breath and exhale. To me I remember the exercises they gave me before I gave birth and have since found that deep breathing does tend to relax me. Also if someone upsets me before replying I take a deep breath and consider my reply carefully. Would it be possible for you to have a word with your boss and explain how you are feeling then hopefully they can help you over the stress you are having. Hope this helps, thinking of you. Janet x

Hello Freckles

I don’t work anymore, thank goodness.

That’s not helpful for you though freckles, sorry!! What about having a massage…indian head massage is very relaxing.

Shoulder massage’s are lovely…I do them for my friends…they fall asleep on me Lol.

Listening to some nice relaxing music may help.

Good luck

Hi

Mindfulness meditation is helpful - there’s plenty of stuff about it online if you google it. I took part in a study into it a couple of years ago that was funded by the MS Society, and I’ve kept it up since as it helps me with things like stress & pain. Cognitive Behavoural Therapy is meant to be good too, and you’re doctor should be able to refer you to get it.

Thanks all for the replies, you all give such good advice and opinions I almost begin to feel better about things already!

As I keep telling my husband, it’s good to talk!
