Horse riding and MS

my daugther i got her a horse to help her get through her M.E. she was bed ridden 2 years, then went on to develop fibro.

over the years Spirit has helped her heal and she can now ride and is working. Having a horse if you can is amazing therepy. You can try specialist mounting blocks to help you get up.

How cool is that. Ages ago I saw a TV programme that showed a group of kids who were struggling to fit in were introduced to a group of horses. The relationships and responsibilities had a massive benefit. It was fascinating to see the interactions.
I know next to nothing but have learned a bit about understanding different perspectives from being around these animals.

I’ve been riding since I was diagnosed back in 2005. I started off just riding in an arena, very occasional hacks, poo picking and looking after my horse. It was the most special lifeline. I’m still riding but doing less of the looking after bit but more riding and even competing in para dressage. I can’t imagine life without a horse because it gives me so much freedom
