Hi I’m Art. I’m 26 and have been suffering with symptoms that could potentially be MS. My doctor thinks it is so I’m having tests to find out but she thinks it’s this.
My main symptoms are tiredness, difficulty walking always feel like I’m drunk and legs feel weak, throbbing headache, numbness tingling, eye pain and memory problems.
I’m a bit scared of this but my doctor assures me that medication can help manage a lot of this if it is MS.
It’s a bit overwhelming but I’m lucky to have a supportive family.

Hi,
It is overwhelming, going through this. As you might have realised, there is no one simple test to show whether or not you have MS, so you are left in suspense while you go from one test to the next.
If it is MS, though, there is quite a range of treatment on offer, depending on your circumstances. Research progress seems to be quite encouraging in this area. So you shouldn’t assume that it is going to overshadow everything.
In the meantime can your doctor give you anything to control your current symptoms? They may not need a final diagnosis for that. During the diagnosis “process” I found it helpful to when my doctor put me on amitriptyline (ended the pain), so that I could keep busy with the rest of my life.
