Hi all newly diagnosed

Hi I’m stacie diagnosed last July at 35, had a feeling long before then but got pushed out of question with gp’s and put on medication for different things in stead of getting to the bottom of it and now been left it get on with it, no answers to questions I may have that why I’m here.

Hello, it’s funny you get a diagnosis and often left to get on with it. Now is time to let everything sink in. Then do exactly what you are doing and find answers to the questions running around your head. With luck you may find some answers to your questions here but there are lots of other resource’s. MS nurses are a really good source of information. With luck that will be a useful for you. Good luck I hope you can get some answers, while everyones MS is different and you don’t know how things will progress I am sure someone else would have asked the questions on your mind

Good luck

Hi @sholdsworth89 you say you were diagnosed last year. Do you not have an MS Nurse who should be able to answer your questions? I have an appointment twice a year and can also email her with questions about new symptoms etc.

Also are you now on a disease modifying treatment?

I now have a ms nurse after emails and phone call and the doctors have been able to get it sorted now. I have yearly mri but on medication for all different things going on.

Hi @sholdsworth89 . That’s good. I was wondering about MS Disease Modifying Drugs in particular. There are about 20 of these which in various ways reduce the number of new relapses and lesions and slow down the rate of disability

Hi Stacie,

Welcome to the forum, we’re a friendly bunch

Your MS nurse will be a good source of information, and the MS Society and MS Trust websites are also both really good.

Xx
