# Help- how do I get a doctor

Hi all,

I’ve had MS for the last 12 years and have been leaving in Prague for the last 4 years. While I’ve been here I’ve had 2 relapses, both of which were treated here.

I’m moving back to the UK in July and I’d like to register with an MS nurse or neurologist, or both but I’m not sure how to do this. Do I need a referal from a GP even though I’ve got a confirmed DX and used to have a yearly appointment with an MS professor?

I really have to remember to proof-read the messages before posting! I meant I’ve been living in Prague for 4 years, not leaving for 4 years!! The transport links aren’t that bad!!

You probably need a referral, that is the way the NHS seems to work. However you shouldn’t have a problem getting one since you have a confirmed dx. When you move back here and register with a GP he will be able to explain the system.
