Has anyone experienced a misread scan?

I’m in a similar position I’ve numb legs and had mris of lower back twice in the past two years. Was seen this week by a nuro surgeon who after listening to my symptoms said my back wasn’t the cause of any of it and has referred me to neurology.

Like you I’m trying to get to the bottom of it all but it’s a long job. Had issues, going back over 20 years but just thought it’s normal for me.

I hope you get some answers when you see the neurologist.

I had vertigo for 2 years then developed optic neuritis in my right eye

When I was seeing the eye doctors at the hospital, they sent me for an MRI scan.

They told me the results were ‘nothing to worry about’

When I finally got to see the neuro months later he told me it wasn’t ok and that he didn’t know why they would tell me that it was

Since then I’ve had excellent results from the care they have given me

I would say, try and get a second opinion if you’re not happy…and make sure who sent you for the scan is actually someone who knows what to look out for

Good luck xx
