I had a replacement coil put in yesterday and I started on Gilenya two and a half weeks ago. In the ‘dangerous side effects’ bit of the information bit of the coil leaflet, they mention severe infections. I know that one is much more likely to get infections when on Gilenya, because it reduces your white blood cell count and white blood cells fight infections.
I didn’t mention the Gilenya to the doctor who fitted the coil because I just didn’t think about it - I’d had the previous coil in for six years and had no problems with it. Now I’m really scared. Can anyone reassure me?
