Unsure of suspected diagnosis. I got my MRI brain scan and cervical spine results back and it came back all clear, I’ve had blood tests in the past and they’ve not shown anything of note either. The neurologist has referred me to neuropsychology but I’m skeptic of this diagnosis because I’ve only had a brain mri and cervical spine mri and then the neuro told me if it’s all clear then he’ll refer me to neuropsychiatry. I’m really anxious about what’s going to happen next since I’ve heard a lot of people say that FND is a scapegoat diagnosis and I feel like my symptoms aren’t too typical of FND. I get full body lack of sensation, more on the left side. Spot in my vision, migraines due to the sunlight. Apparently I also slight weakness in my legs so I don’t really know what’s going on. I always get really anxious before I have a flare up and then it lasts for anywhere from 1-2 weeks. I don’t know I’m only 21 and I just don’t want to live like this if there’s no treatment since my symptoms are just gradually getting worse
FND is a real thing and a perfectly respectable thing. Have you read the excellent neurosymptoms.org site? It’s the best resource I know for what FND is and what it isn’t. If I had FND, I would find it reassuring.
