First hospital appointment!

Hi all So I’ve had my first hospital appointment and have been booked in for MRI and nerve tests. Had some physical test done in appointment which my left leg/foot showed signs of spasticity and something else but can’t remember what she called it… Lol At the time I had numb patches on my left leg which she stabbed with a pin and rubbed cotton wool over not sure what this shows but hay ho. Just wondering if this will go down on my record as an episode and be counted in the diagnosis process ? I have today woken up with a completely numb left leg do I go to the doctors and let them know? I hate going to the dr at the best of times and feel that Ive become a bit of a hypercondriac in their eyes :frowning: but I want to get this limbo over with ASAP. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Welcome to the forum!

It might be counted as an episode as it looks as if the neuro found objective evidence but I think it will depend on ruling out other possible causes and if the MRI shows anything. I think the instances of numbness of your left leg would be counted as the same thing. If I had something that I need help with (e.g.pain or spasticity) I’d go to the doctors but your neuro knows about the numbness in any case. Even if this is MS like demylination it might be a one off episode.

Are you expecting to see the neuro again for MRI results? All this waiting is a pain! But at least the things are underway.

Best wishes, Jon
