If you’ve had fecal incontinence and have it managed or isn’t there any more, what did you do?
hey there - I might be able to help with this
I struggled with incontinence for about a year, and it was gradually getting much worse up until april/may this year. but I changed my diet to largely gluten free (strictly three meals a day) and was recommended by my GP to an incontinence nurse, who gave me pelvic floor exercises which I do after meals. they are essentially sitting and squeezing the pelvic floor muscles a few times, and I’ve had one incident in three months. it was almost every day, before then.
happy to private message you, if you think that could help
Have you figured out what was triggering it for you?
I’ve seen people mention that it can improve quite a bit once the underlying cause is addressed. Things like pelvic floor exercises, diet changes, treating diarrhea or constipation, and working with a specialist seem to come up often. It really depends on what’s causing it, though, so getting properly assessed is important.
