Hi all, I hope you are doing as well as possible with all the challenges we face. I just wondered if anyone had any advice regarding dating. I’m pretty much housebound at the moment but I don’t want to be alone forever.
Hello. I don’t have any advice on dating but I believe that there are dating sites for people with disabilities? Also, have you contacted your local MS Society group? My local one meets up in a pub/ restaurant for coffees, meals, cocktail evenings (!!). I haven’t joined any of the events but your local group might be able to advise on e.g getting to and back from their gatherings?
This is my worry well. Im a bigger girl aswell And I’m so worried because I’ve now got Ms and may need walking aid that it’s going to affect my chances even more! It was hard as it is but now this and as you said don’t want to be alone forever and it’s hard to get out there considering for yourself tour housebound, some days are better than others personally for me but there’s days where I’m housebound too.
Hello lovely, you don’t say how young you are but as we get older the less appearances matter. I bet you’re more beautiful than you think anyway. I’m 46 and not the slim size 12 I was in my 20s. It’s what’s inside that truly counts, it’s so much deeper as we age. Thank you for your reply xxx
Thank you for your reply. Sadly I don’t leave the flat much, I have 2 flights of steps and no lift. I’m starting Ocrovus soon so hopefully that will help to slow the progression down. Best wishes to you xxx
I turned 30 in June
hopefully things get better for us in the dating sense x
It’s about meeting people wherever and whenever we can @Loublou . As @Hank_Dogs said, if you are not currently able to get outside, then there’s an whole plethora of dating apps available nowadays. But, if you are having a good day and are able to venture outside you never know who you might meet. Just sitting on a bench admiring the view.. or even just resting, might lead you to an chance encounter. If there’s someone special for you, then, I’m sure that you will meet them sooner or later. Wishing you well when you start your DMD treatment.
