Not sure if it’s the same but last year I had a dry cough for almost 7 months straight. It was accompanied by a tickly mucus throat that I just couldn’t clear, and an extremely hoarse voice. Sometimes I couldn’t raise my voice above a whisper but my throat wasn’t sore. It was exhausting. My ribs were so tender from coughing all the time. At first I just thought it was a cold coming but a cold never arrived. GP thought it may be post nasal drip, but it wasn’t. Turned out to be an MS symptom and one day I was coughing away like usual and it just stopped mid cough and that was that gone! It was exhausting so I feel for him. Unfortunately I don’t have any advice because I just had to sit it out. Hope things improve. x
