Confused update

New diagnosis and before diagnosis

My tale continues.
Short recap.
Doctor 1 thinks Trigeminal nerve numbness, books MRI
Doctor 2 - confirms TN but no idea why.
Doctor 3 - MRI shows, brain inflammation, loss of structure and outer layer of nerve gone. 2 mins on the phone, did say could be MS wait for a hospital appointment.

My doctor calls me on Monday, been in a very stressful state all week.
I do have inflammation and nerve layer problems but makes it seem only around the TN site. cannot see a loss of structure.
could be due to virus or one of them things, could be MS but never been a problem before.

She gave me a course of prednisolone. Numbness had already about gone and coldness.
I feel more positive after chatting with my doctor.

Oh TeddyBear, what a week. I would ask for a referral to see a neurologist. Appointments are taking so long to come through so will give time to see if any other symptoms in addition to what you are experiencing present or get worse.
It will be interesting to see if you feel any better after the prednisone. Keep updating us :blush:.

Thank you for your reply. It is all very confusing. Been on the prednisone 3 days and the coldness went before I started taking them. The numbness is about 90 % gone now, just part of the lip I can still just about feel its a little numb.
