Caring and accommodation options

Hi,

My mum has recently moved into an assistive living bungalow. It is a new build that is owned by a care home but operates separately. They have set hours with carers who rotate shifts and there will be at least one carer there 24/7.

The carers assist with personal care as well as general housekeeping and meals.

We are currently trying to organise the benefits for this and have to define the type of care. I can’t find anywhere that states the difference between “semi independent living” and “supportive living” and how this works with benefits.

Has anybody else been through a similar situation or know how the above are defined?

Moving in general is stressful but the amount of problems we’ve encountered so far after moving out of our family home has made for a much less pleasant experience.

Any help and advice is appreciated

Thanks,

Becky
