As I can never get to find the landline phone in time due to mobility problems, I am looking for some sort of headset (phone system) that I can wear that will allow me to answer the landline without needing to get to the phone. Does anyone use or know of such a system?

The low power limits the range of a Bluetooth device to about 10 meters (32 feet), this cuts down greatly going through walls and ceilings.
Bluetooth was designed for near point to point communication with another device, you could buy bluetooth repeaters but its still not going to work that great.
Maybe just get a cordless phone and extra handsets around, keep it in your pocket or dangle it around your neck
