At last, publicity for progressive MS

Hi everyone, so I don’t normally watch daytime TV, but this afternoon I switched onto BBC1 and caught the start of Natalie Cassidy former EastEnders star (I never watched myself) anyway she’s training to be a carer and today’s episode no 4 was about people living with chronic long term conditions and it focused a lot on MS.
It was a hard watch, but a good one, although the lady in question has PPMS, me and her, I have SPMS where so similar, so just thought I’d give it a mention.

Hi Greenhouse

I too watched the program after seeing an article on Breakfast TV. I also found it a tough watch but it made me realise I don’t give my hubby enough thanks for everything he does for me… every single day!!
(I’m rectifying that I have to say!!) What a wonderful couple they were and how good of Natalie Cassidy to raise awareness as you say!!

Hi @BlinkingMS Thank you for replying, glad you watched it and yes it does make you realise how much your husband does, mine is the same, I think I’m so lucky to have him, he does everything, including keeping our home inside and out looking lovely.
I hope other’s will watch it, not only with MS, but people without it and get some insight into what we have to go through.
Thanks again and have a good day,

Hi Jean, I found it very interesting, covering a diverse spectrum. It’s a lot more challenging than it was 15years ago to obtain help and support especially. People could learn a lot from her approach towards each individual client, took me back to when I was caring, support worker. It makes a change to see a series will open the eyes to those who think anyone can do that job, and not forgetting everything that the clients go through daily, that the government down plays just so he can tax more people!

Thank you Jean for the recommendation. X

You’re very welcome @animali I agree, those in the care profession don’t get enough credit for what they do, you hear one bad example and all carers are tarred with the same brush, which isn’t fair.
also it was good that MS was among the ones that where mentioned :+1:
Take care,

Most definitely Jean, they always want to tar all with the same brush which is so wrong! There are some fantastic carers out there, but they focus on the bad ones in social media. Oh definitely, people think you have it easy with a disability, but it’s a constant juggling act which I know you’re aware of.

Take care Jean. X
