Appointment Post MRI

So I had my appointment following the MRI.

Firstly I was asked how things were, to which I said feeling ok…symptoms lingering, being tingling in left arm and foot with an ache in the left leg, all of which comes and goes, sometimes nothing all day, then maybe just hand etc…everything else had gone.

The images were brought up of the scans on my brain and c spine… there was absolutely nothing on them. Nothing contentious, simply as good as I could want he said.

The suggestion was that either some sort of cns infection that had left lingering symptoms, which he says can take a long time to resolve. If it has been ms, with the way it has presented and the results of the images, he suggest that it looks to be a benign course. He also said that we could do a LP but even if it did show OB, given the scans and my relatively mild symptoms, he would not treat with DMT’s. They are mild now, but didn’t feel mild at the peak of it all.

Apparently he see’s this and suggests to the people to basically get on with their lives… If it is mild it may be nothing more than current symptoms on and off for many years. If things notably change and persist then can address at that time.

I am very pleased that I didn’t see a scan covered in lesions, that can only be a very good thing, but also can not see it being very easy to forget everything. Perhaps if the symptoms all go and stay gone, it will happen.

It goes without saying I suppose… why hunt for something that may not be there if there are no serious problematic issues. If it is indeed ms and something happens that will really effect me in the future, it will no doubt be dealt with then.

A part of me wants to have the LP and insist on a scan of the TS and LS, but the symptoms apparently would not suggest anything lower than the CS.

I guess I should take his advice, get on with things and try to put it behind me…if something is there, I will be all to aware of it.
