I need to publicly apologise because, although my computer developed a fault, I could have said so on 6th April. I didn’t and that has made some very lovely, caring people worried about me.
I didn’t have an emergency and I’m very well. I didn’t think the problem would take so long and I didn’t think about a community that’s so close and protective. That was wrong of me.
The Forum is a powerful force for good and I’m truly very sorry for the alarm I caused and promise not to take the Forum for granted again.
But seriously, don’t do it again. Or there’ll be Iceni out scouring the land for you. Boudica has gone on a mini cruise. She’s had warnings not to mutiny or stir up trouble with the crew. But I’ve just sent her a text to say you’re not dead, abducted by aliens or starting the invasion of the Island early. That will ease her mind. And I’m sure there will be many toasts to the resurrected AD drunk tonight by our Queen together with her Bev (Mark 1).
As evidence of how highly you’re thought of, there were some who wanted to close down the Brain Fog thread in your memory. Others wanted to keep it going because you started something that is very much needed and appreciated. It’s a tribute to you that it’s lasted for so long.
You have played an important part in the life of this forum. Please don’t go AWOL again without telling anyone - at least, not until the next time! And please consider leaving contact details with someone, just in case.
Over the last few weeks I’ve done little, spoken rarely and dropped a great variety of domestic items.
The local police helicopter has been over a few times. I hope you’ve told them you’re ok. Meanwhile, blow your whistle, bang your drum and watch out for magpies.
The only thing I’ve dropped recently was a Huge Clanger by not telling anyone that my PC was going into hospital for data recovery. (The cat sat on the keyboard and deleted an entire folder of files that I use daily. It took three weeks to get the effing thing back.)
I didn’t realise that going AWOL would result in such a reaction. I suppose I should be flattered but it’s quite scary. I now have to behave responsibly. Which will be a challenge.
I haven’t seen a reaction like this since 1 Direction split up. Have they split up? Can’t remember maybe they have just grown up. No idea!!! Anyway nice to see you back, Anthony.
