Hope everyone is well! I’ll make it short. I was diagnosed with transverse myelitis in 2015. Got better. April 2023 hospitalized with Guillone-barre but all tests were negative. IVIG 5 days and a huge bill. Symptoms kept getting worse. Went on a medical odyssey and finally got a neuro to order imaging. Another spot C3C4. Just got lumbar puncture with this The patient’s CSF contains THREE well defined gamma restriction bands that are not present in the corresponding serum sample. Also noted are additional identical (mirror
image) gamma restriction bands in both the patient’s CSF and serum. Another MRI in March then back to neuro. It’s been such an exhausting “almost” two years with no real diagnosis and no treatment except for the IvIG over a year ago. Anyone know what the CSF result may indicate? My symptoms have become intolerable. I’m starting to believe I’m just crazy. Thank you! Hugs
Hello. I am sorry, I know little about LPs beyond the fact that whatever mind showed confirmed MS. What does your neurologist say about yours? Mind just said that it had shown what he expected it to and that was the end of that discussion.
What part of the world are you in? From the reference to a big bill, I assume it isn’t the UK?
