A friend has bought me a digital TV recorder. Our broadband reception is very poor - so l cannot watch anything on iplayer.

This little box [Goodmans £20] will record programmes and series for you - l can be watching something whilst it is recording another programme. lt is easy to install and simple to use. l am going to get another for my bedroom tv. l love Corrie - but my OH -doesn’t - so even if l record it - he would still be ‘tutting’ as l watch it.

We have had it a week now - and l am now wondering how we managed before.

l have just programmed it to record Horizon - tonight - as Tina recommends to watch.

Another feature of my ‘useful gadget’ is - if the phone rings or l need the loo - any interruption and l can ‘pause’ a live programme and restart it when l am ready.

Sounds like you are having lots of fun with your new gadget. Bet the dogs are enjoying it too. I wonder when they are gonna start the dog channel, that should be soon.
