3T mri scanner

Does anybody know where the nearest 3T Scanner is to Lancashire please

I’m not sure there is any easy way to find out, sorry. You could try phoning around the hospitals and asking them what strength their scanner is. It’s important to know that how good the images are is not just about the scanner strength though - it’s actually more important to have thinner slices (1 slice = 1 image) so that you get much better resolution and improve your chances of spotting smaller lesions.

So, if you can’t find a 3T scanner, you could try and get a really high resolution 1.5T scan: if possible, 2mm slices, but certainly 3mm at the very most.

If you can afford it, you could travel to a private scanning centre. I know there are a few around the country. Do make sure and check what you are getting for your money. Aim for a 3T scanner AND a maximum of 3mm slices.
