Unpredictable mood swings?

Hi all,

was as just wondering if anybody else finds their moods are up and down all the time?

One day your fine, the next your on edge and snappy? If so are you on any medication for it? I take 100mg of sertraline and if I miss any it is very obvious.

Hi

I have moods too, I think it’s quite common with M.S, I was screaming at my husband who ended walking out on me. Went to docs and was put on citalopram raised dose once but can raise a few more times if needed. Husband came back when I got onto them, the thing that gets me now is how much he has to do for me, seems okay as long as I control myself. I along with a lot of others hate M.S

my ms nurse informed me that i had emotional lability.

ie mood swings.

thought you might like the posh way of saying it!

my lability was helpless and crying with laughter or sobbing heartbroken about all i’d lost from ms.

my sister who has always been emotional would come round all the time to laugh or cry with me!

MS can cause mood swings, emotional liability, and pathological laughing and crying. Also anxiety and depression.

Have a read of these two pages from the MS Trust…

MS and your feelings

Of course, it’s not my fault I’m moody, it’s other people that drive me to it! Fools and morons the lot of 'em.

Every day. My wife had enough of it too. Had to go see doctor, who stick me on Citalopram. 1 1/2 a day… 2 I’m bouncing off the walls, 1 I’m miserable. But can still go from rock star to psycho in 30 seconds. Fine if left alone. Prefer it that way…Can hear the voices better.
